the zeeuws museum presents from april 10 to october 24 2010 MODEMETMONIQUE.
in the same way the  zeeuws museum questions the  role and function of a regional museum, monique van heist researches the conventions and limits of fashion and the fashionsystem.
in an installation of 3 big rooms the work of  monique van heist and the collection of the museum are mixed organically.

in the exhibition MODEMETMONIQUE  monique van heist reflects her work as a designer upon the (fashion)collection of the zeeuws museum; a research to offer new perspectives to the local identity of the  museum. the main theme of the exhibition is hellofashion, the over time growing collection of  moniquevanheist-garments, accessories and lifestyle-articles like recipies and furniture. moniquevanheists’ collection  and the collection of the  zeeuws museum are combined into one big wardrobe. besides garments and obejcts, the exhibition contains a series of photos and a 3-d installation of moniquevanheists’ studio.
